The Elvis Room #2
I forgot how hard this is. These photos really don't do any justice to the actual floor that is beginning to emerge from the hours of sanding. But trust me, there is some decent tone under the 170+ years of human wear. The maple center is proving particularily difficult. It is a very hard wood, and it's the ground dirt i am trying to get out. There is no finish on this section of the floor. The outer edge is oak, and really is looking nice. Norm is sore.

Gorgeous!...Wow, Norm, it looks too good by the pics....I love maple wood....so beautiful and lovely to the touch....Norm, get thee to a massage therapist, pronto! :)
Aw Norm, I know you're sore, but all that hard work will pay off. You need a jacuzzi and a glass of wine followed by a good rub down. ;)
I love that the floor in the Elvis room is laid in a "framed" configuration. What happens to all the dust from the sanding project? Does the machine actually pick it up in the bag I see in the first picture? It seems like it would be an asthmatic's nightmare (not that I'm an asthmatic, I'm not).
p.s. was Stinky scared during the sanding?
Thanks Jane!
LA, all the dust collects in the bags. Fortunately I could close the door and that really helps with the noise. Stinky was in the other end of the house. I would love to someday install a jacuzzi! Do you have one?
Yes Ffleur I do. And thank-you for asking!
Norm - No jacuzzi here. Unfortunately.

It is hard work, I feel your pain, eventhough Mr. Bird does most of the heavy labor.
You are lucky to have such wonderful old hardwood floors under the gunk.
Out here in the Valley we have cement slabs under the carpet! HeeHee!
It is looking good,Flix/Norm :)
What's next for the Elvis room, Norm?
LA, gonna try finishing the sanding tomorrow. I am finally at the finer 100 grit!!

Norm is real careful, Joy. He opens the windows, closes the door, and wears a special mask! Opps, gotta go!!
Hey, what's with the rabbit droppings everywhere!?

LOL!!! HAHHAHAHAHA! Poor Norm! He's always one step behind the giant wabbit! (dayum, just how big are those droppings? ewwww!)
Those are some hot floors!
Poor puppy though. Does he get all scared around the sander? Or the vacuum?
