Norm's World #12

Well summer is here, and Norm is sitting in front of his fan. It is too hot to unload the ton of yard crap that sits in the back of his trusted Chevy pick-up. This shot was taken on the opposite site of Norm's yard, away from the pool area. This is actually looking downhill. Norm had to cut his way into the forest to create a drop-off spot for all the plant shit he's been collecting recently. He then, with great caution, backed the truck down his side lawn and into the entrance. It was a one-shot deal. He almost hit the pine tree on the left. That baby ain't moving until it is unloaded. When will that be? The boss will be over tonight. Ask her.

Norm - Do you have HGTV in your cable package? I'm guessing you do, it's considered "basic" by most cable companies. Check it out, I think you'll like a lot of the DIY-oriented shows. You may also enjoy some of the real estate-oriented shows like House Hunters and What You Get for the Money. House Hunters was the show where that guy from North End bought a weekend place up in Provincetown.

Norm certainly has felt that way Ffleur. But now he just goes inside and watches cable TV!

LA, Norm will definitely check to see if he has it. If you and Pru recommend, it's bound to be good!

Norm, don't do it. Every time I turn on HGTV, Pelegrim comes home to a hole in the wall, baseboards pulled up, three cans of new paint, or last month's room full of Pergo. If you're anything like me, you'll be convinced you can do just about anything.

BTW, the Pergo floors in the masterbedroom came out wonderful and we only fought once.

OMG, my brother and his wife just painted the entire interior of their house. And now in their garage is literally $300 worth of 1-qt cans of paint, dozens of colors they bought as they tried various "swatches" on the walls.

Kookla - Did you guys really lay your own Pergo? Damn, I'm impressed!

Norm looked into using Pergo for some of his floors, but it would have been too expensive. That's some nice stuff, though.

Norm - Check out cork. It's the hot new thing, and because it's a renewable resources and trees aren't cut down, it's less expensive. (It's cultivated from the bark of cork trees which naturally sloughs off and regenerates, so it's a win-win for the tree and the consumer.)

Yep. Grim & I laid Pergo all by ourselves. Although we have wood floors throughout the house, our masterbedroom is an add-on, so we decided to go with a laminate for durability. We started out in the closet to test our ability, and to make sure we didn't get into a bloody fistfight. Once we realized we could work well together, we completed our bedroom in 2 weekends.

Only one fight, no fists.
