Diane, that is exactly Norm's approach. Damsels are also cheap and tough. That may sound harsh, but one looks for fish that will thrive with a trigger. There really aren't many.
LA, you have to bear with Norm. UCLA is . . . college basketball? Please advise. (Or Norm could search . . .)

UCLA... college basketball, college football, you name it. But the school colors are blue and yellow, which is what you are proposing for your fish tank w/the addition of this little fishie.
