The Elvis Room #3.1

Well this project has certainly taken longer than Norm expected. But things are moving a little quicker now. The main wall was closed, the whole room primed, and a textured stucco finish applied to main wall and ceiling. Then the finish yellow was put on today. Norm likes it, but a second coat may be necessary to really make it pop. Norm also wired the first speaker terminal, and started to wire the first light. Norm is now going to have some liquid refreshment.

Wow, I hope Norm doesn't put the velvet Elvis portraits back up on the beautiful new walls!

It looks like the other wall has some purple on it?

Good work, Norm. I can't wait to see the floors with the wall!

Wow... I'm always impressed with people who are really handy around the house. Me? I don't have the attention span for anything like it. Once, I bought a bookcase from a large chain of box stores that sells cheap, assemble it yourself furniture.

After deciding I would do it all myself, I spent 45 minutes getting it all out of the box, reading the (very complicated) instructions, pouring myself a drink, reading the instructions again, pouring myself another drink, trying to figure out how this whole thing stays together with just some cheap dowel and wood glue, getting up to get another drink, sitting back down because I realize I'm slightly tipsy and should not be working with (surprisingly sticky) wood glue, and finally calling my dad to supervise him putting together my bookcase. But, I was a really good (drunk) supervisor.

However, my dad did tell me that I was only allowed to buy "actual furniture from now on because this do-it-yourself stuff is shit!"

Ah, dad's. Good for laughing at drunk daughters.

LA, the purple was a test color that Norm vetoed!

Cheers, Marcia!

Mish, Norm's dad couldn't assemble a cardboard box!

Ffleur, Norm has to clean-up after that rabbit all the time. He leaves his droppings and empties everywhere!

Jane, it is a Ben. Moore color called "little angel" and Norm loves it.

Thanks, V!
