Norm's World #35

Norm has been a little slow on the posting. And it's not because there is a lack of topics. Quite the opposite. The long list of stuff to pick from just isn't that fun. Interesting? Yes. But Norm has come to the recent realization that 2007 has really tested his stodgy resolve. Repair challenges seem to appear on a monthly basis. And some amusing issues just to keep things interesting. Norm has held back on blogging about most of this stuff, just because he doesn't want to bore people with the woes of this old shack.

Here is a picture of the river, which is at it's highest level ever. And this is because a family of beavers have moved in. They first reared thier rodent heads around June. Norm has mixed emotions. Growing up in New England, there have been numerous stories about how beavers can be super destructive and really alter ecosystems. Norm is going to post a series of posts, and show what they've changed over the past three months. They really are busy creatures. For now Norm is going to let them stay.

P.S. The ripples in the water are from one of the beavers swimming on the far end.

Beavers are very distructive, and yet so cute (from a distance). I think your three month photo comparison will be very interesting. In three months, Norm will have snow!

Mish, one of them swam-up to Norm and just hung out for like ten minutes.

Norm hopes we all can get along, Diane.

Norm will post some shots soon, LA!!

I was going to make a crack about looking forward to your beaver shots, but then I realized you guys were actually talking about nature.

Your repair challenges sound alot like mine. I've finally laid down the laminated wood floors in 3/4 of the house, but working side by side with Pelegrim is akin to a Laurel and Hardy film. The most painful being the time I landed on my bottom on a pile of rusty carpet tacks

lol.

I hope you and the beavers can work things out.

PS - An amazing photograph of the river. You sure do live in a lovely neck of the woods.

Norm enjoys hearing about your home adventures, Kook!! When you work with Pele, are you the Chief or an Indian?

V, the battle with the beavers continues. Norm continues to wade into the river to break-up the damn.
